During my bike commute into work I wanted to make a point about drinking water especially on hot days, so it’s the Tip Of The Day!
Hydration is important. It can prevent exhaustion, headaches, and other ill effects.
The recommended amount of water is dependent on the individual and the weather, but generally one 20 ounce water bottle per hour is a good starting point.
I use the Camelbak Podium Big Chill 25 ounce water bottle, as well as a 24 ounce Polar Bottle, and a 12 ounce Polar Bottle for shorter rides.
You can fill your water bottles up part way and then put them in the freezer to turn it into ice that will melt as you ride. I also read that keeping the water bottle in the freezer prevents bacteria from developing.
Many bicycle water bottles are dishwasher safe, and BPA chemical free.
On another note, my bicycle is making a knocking noise and it sounds like it is coming from the crankset. It happens at the same time on each pedal revolution. More to come in a future video.
